A BIT ABOUT US
The Lewis Elementary Foundation is a parent-led effort to raise funds to support staffing in our school. We are a non-profit organization that falls under the umbrella of The Fund for Portland Public Schools.
In 2018-19 we saw a reduction in staffing due to cuts in funding that went beyond the standard budget allocated by PPS. The main reason for the reduction in funds is that the Lewis community demographics are changing. Our goals with the foundation are to maintain the programs that are valued in our school and to keep class sizes down.
LEWIS SCHOOL CAMPAIGN FOR STAFFING
Our direct appeal is an ongoing fundraising effort. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 in 2020-2021 for additional staffing. We accept donations year round, either as one time donations or as ongoing donations. Any money raised during the 2020-2021 school year will be used to supplement money raised during 2019-2020 so Ms. Froelich can make a larger impact with money from both years.
