Hello! I'm Jen Barnes, new President of the Lewis PTA. Welcome to a weird and wild year. Believe me, I know this is far from ideal. Besides all the logistical challenges of remote learning, we are so going to miss our beloved school events and gatherings and seeing one another in person. I know these are the moments that make us feel connected! But, this year the PTA is working hard to bring our Lewis community together, despite the challenges. I want you to know that you are not alone. There is uncertainty and anxiety, but we are in this together. I certainly do not have all the answers but we can work together to find solutions! 

 

You are invited to our monthly PTA meetings. These will be held via Zoom on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. The Zoom link will go out in the newsletter the week before the meeting, and also will be shared on our Lewis PTA Facebook page. You do not need to be a Member to attend. It's a great way to get information about what's going on. You can ask questions or raise concerns. Your voice matters! I know this year will be different, but there will be plenty of opportunities to be involved!   

 

I know many families are interested in connecting and creating learning pods or "care share" groups. We know you need child care options and many are looking for COVID-safe connection with other families. We encourage you to depend on your Lewis classroom teacher for instruction, and the supervising adult would help kids access their class, complete work, and help with snacks and other needs. This model would work for kids in different classrooms and even grades. The principal will NOT be granting requests for children to be grouped together.
